A Journey to Remember

A Seamless Transition into Something Extraordinary

After our unforgettable stay at the Fingal Hotel from March 5th through the 8th, Jason and I stepped into the next chapter of our journey on March 9th—our guided adventure through Scotland and Ireland with Collette.

I can truly say that one of the most memorable journeys Jason and I have ever taken was with Collette. It wasn’t just a trip—it was an experience filled with rich history, seamless travel, new friendships, and moments that will stay with us forever.

What I love most about Collette is how effortlessly everything comes together. Your accommodations, guided tours, many meals, and experiences are thoughtfully bundled into one beautifully curated package—allowing you to simply relax, explore, and be fully present in the journey without the stress of planning every detail.

Historical and Cultural Highlights

This journey carried us through some of the most breathtaking and historically rich landscapes imaginable.

We began in Edinburgh, exploring Edinburgh Castle and walking the Royal Mile before heading into the Highlands. Along the way, we visited St. Andrews, Inverness, and the legendary Loch Ness, where we stood before the hauntingly beautiful ruins of Urquhart Castle.

From there, we experienced the dramatic beauty of Glencoe, explored Glasgow, ferried across the Irish Sea into Northern Ireland, and marveled at the Giant’s Causeway before continuing on to Derry, Donegal, and then to Dublin.

Each stop felt like stepping deeper into a living story shaped by centuries of history and culture.

Cultural Immersion Moments

What truly set this journey apart were the immersive experiences.

One unforgettable evening, we attended a traditional Scottish ceilidh—filled with music, storytelling, laughter, and dance.

We also visited a whisky distillery, watched working sheepdogs in action, and enjoyed local tastings that deepened our connection to the regions we explored.

These weren’t just excursions—they were meaningful moments that brought each destination to life.

Interesting Fact

The Giant’s Causeway is made up of over 40,000 interlocking basalt columns formed by volcanic activity nearly 60 million years ago.

But according to legend, it was built by a giant—reminding us that some places are just as rich in myth as they are in history.

Why This Style of Travel Matters

For me, this is what travel should feel like.

Not rushed.
Not overwhelming.
Not just a checklist.

But meaningful, immersive, and effortless.

Traveling with Collette allowed us to be fully present—without worrying about logistics—so we could truly connect with the places we visited and the people we met along the way.
