Read on for highlights, tips, and ideas for your own Leavenworth escape!
There’s something utterly enchanting about Leavenworth, Washington — a Bavarian-style village tucked away in the Cascade Mountains where every street feels like a scene from a storybook 📖. Our weekend getaway there was filled with family, laughter, great food, live music, and unforgettable memories 💫.
🦌 Family Fun at the Leavenworth Reindeer Farm
One of the highlights of our trip was visiting the Leavenworth Reindeer Farm with our nephew JD, his wife Birch, Birch’s mom Susan, and their two adorable daughters, Helen (aka my “HoneyBunz”) and Marjorie (my “SuggaBugga”) 🥰.
The farm experience was pure joy — from learning about these magnificent creatures to actually getting up close and feeding them. HoneyBunz and SuggaBugga were absolutely delighted, their faces lighting up with every nuzzle and nibble. The farm staff were wonderful, sharing fascinating stories about the reindeer and making sure everyone, young and old, had a chance to soak in the magic. It was one of those rare experiences that brought out the inner child in all of us 🎈.
🥞 Lunch at Leavenworth Crepe Sisters Café
After the farm adventure, we headed into town for lunch at the charming Leavenworth Crepe Sisters Café 🏡. This cozy spot is a must-visit if you’re ever in town. The menu was packed with both sweet and savory crepes, each one looking more delicious than the last 😋.
We feasted on beautifully crafted crepes filled with everything from fresh fruits and Nutella to savory options with ham, cheese, and spinach. Every bite was warm, flavorful, and made with love 💕—the perfect comfort food after a morning of outdoor fun. It’s the kind of place where you instantly feel at home and where the food makes you want to linger just a little longer.
🎤 Saturday Night Vibes: Bars, Live Music, and Karaoke
Later that evening, Jason and I decided to explore the nightlife. Leavenworth may be a quaint mountain village by day, but by night, it comes alive! 💃🕺 We found ourselves bar-hopping through some lively local spots, each one buzzing with energy and great music 🎶.
We laughed and sang along as local musicians played everything from folk to classic rock. The night capped off with some classic Saturday night karaoke, where locals and visitors alike took turns belting out everything from country hits to ’80s ballads. The energy was infectious, and the sense of community and fun was absolutely unforgettable.
